The Faculty of Humanities Unair increasingly shows its quality in various fields. This statement is proven by the constant achievements of the Faculty of Humanities. One of the most brilliant achievements of the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Airlangga, is the accomplishment of delivering five female students to become awardees in the 2023 IISMA program.

Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) is a program that provides opportunities for Indonesian students to study at foreign universities for one semester. The selection process in the IISMA program is divided into two stages, namely file selection and interview selection. There are several things to consider in the document selection, including DET results, GPA, experience in organizations, awards, and essays.

At this stage, around 10,000 participants (graduate and vocational) have initially decreased to about 4500 participants, and in the end, only 4500 participants will continue to the interview stage in 2023.

One of the participants who successfully passed the interview selection stage was Aya Hariri.  She is an English Language and Literature student in class 2020 from Sidoarjo who was successfully accepted at the University of Szeged in Hungary.

The reason she chose to study in Hungary was because she wanted to experience a new culture so that her knowledge of cultural differences between countries could become more varied.

Aya also explained her preparation for participating in the IISMA selection, "I practiced several times for the English Proficiency Test, namely the Duolingo English Test (DET). I practiced in the trial session provided by Duolingo, and this trial can be done repeatedly. In this trial, we are given the range of possible outcomes we will get once we have paid for the test."

According to her, there are several tips and tricks to qualify for IISMA, including learning English from YouTube through an account called Teacher Luke.

Aya explained that the tips for passing IISMA were to practice searching for information and reading texts in English. Apart from that, you can also increase your motivation by actively looking for friends in the international online community.
