Every year, the English Department Students Association (EDSA) at Airlangga University (UNAIR) organizes a special event called English Nite, or Enite. This event is a drama performance given by students from the English Language and Literature department. Enite gives these students a platform to explore their interests in acting, directing, and stage production. It also provides a great opportunity for them to improve their skills in English through theater.
This year’s play, Ellipsis, tells a compelling story about Veronica Adams, a young actress full of ambition. Her career takes a sudden turn when she lands a significant role in an important film. However, Veronica faces a challenge that dampens her excitement: Logan Lancaster. Logan, a famous actor who had ignored her in the past, left her with painful memories.
As Veronica and Logan work together on intense scenes in the film, their conflicts heat up. Surprisingly, these tensions reveal unexpected sparks between them. Their growing connection blurs the lines between their roles in the film and their real-life emotions.
Annisa Nismara, one of the actors in Ellipsis, shared her excitement about the upcoming performance. She invited everyone to watch the play, saying, “This event happens at the end of every year. If you have free time or want to see an interesting theater show, Enite is a great choice. The performance is entirely in English, so it’s also a good way to improve your English skills.”
Enite is more than just a drama performance. It’s a celebration of creativity and teamwork. Students work together as actors, directors, writers, and crew members to bring the play to life. This experience helps them build confidence and develop new skills in a fun and supportive environment.
For many students, Enite is also a way to express themselves and share their passion for drama with a wider audience. Each performance reflects their hard work, dedication, and love for theater. The event attracts not only students and staff from UNAIR but also the general public who enjoy live performances.
This year’s play, Ellipsis, promises to be both exciting and emotional. The story of ambition, conflict, and unexpected connections will keep the audience engaged till the end of the story. The characters of Veronica and Logan show the challenges and complexities of life in the entertainment industry.
By watching Ellipsis, audiences can enjoy a high-quality theater experience while supporting the talents of UNAIR’s English Language and Literature students. It’s also a chance to learn more about English through a creative and entertaining medium.
Whether you’re a theater lover or someone looking to improve your English, Enite offers something for everyone. The performance of Ellipsis will be a highlight of the year and a memorable experience for all the attendants. Don’t miss the chance to see this special event and support the talented students of EDSA UNAIR on 2nd December 2024 at Cak Durasim.
